About the Artist

Based in Durham, North Carolina, Holly North is a painter, educator, spiritual seeker, and gardener. Her dedicated path as an artist took off when the pandemic opened up the time and space to build a backyard studio—a sanctuary built specifically to focus on painting and following her heart.

Working primarily with acrylics, Holly balances total freedom with intentional control. She builds her canvases using fluid movements to create an expansive base layer. Once these foundational elements settle, she follows her intuition to bring out recognizable, realistic details.

Holly has always believed there is much more to the universe than what meets the eye. Her vibrant work explores how individual objects hold a unique essence while seamlessly fitting into a single, connected whole. As a soul searcher, Holly believes that allowing our authentic light to shine is fundamental to transforming humanity into a love-based society. Her daily meditation practice serves as a gateway to this light, which she beautifully transmits into her bright, colorful paintings.
